The thing that I like the most about this movie Artificial Intelligence is that towards the middle of the movie you get the thought that this movie was going to have a Disney ending, because it makes you think that maybe David would become a real boy and everything was going to be happily ever after. In actuality the movie had a very technical ending, which I liked a lot, because it did not change its purpose as a Sci-Fi/Technological movie.

The movie was interesting. It showed the social and ethical problems with robots and AI. There were "flesh fares" because people feared an AI takeover. Joe said that the humans were scared because they built the robots to be too smart too quickly and that they would outlive the humans. The humans were scared.

However, I think that the movie focused less on the technological aspects of AI and more on dreams and love. This is the ethical issue with robots because ultimately, they are machines and not real humans, so they cannot experience real hopes and dreams and love. The movie ended with Monica saying that she has always loved David. But, he is a machine, which is a thing.

I don't think this movie ended very realistically. In the final scenes, there were what I believe to be aliens. However, since this movie was futuristic, I think it is real in that we will eventually have functionable androids. I disagree with the purpose of androids solely for the purpose of loving and to be loved. Love is not something that can be quantified and made into an algorithm.

It was also creepy how the robots never blinked.

That movie was really creepy, which I guess was its forte because it wanted to show the issues with creating robots that can love. But it quickly lost its creepiness and became a type of fairytale which seemed to imply that robots were good things and that it was the humans that were trying to stop them that were bad. For me, this inconsistency almost took the meaning out of the movie. The AI was very interesting, but it seemed to be slightly unrealistic. The programmers seemed to just know what "love" was in the beginning of the movie, and were somehow able to transform love into equations and inequalities. In addition, David's impossible struggle to be a boy didn't seem to be love, it seemed to be an obsession that went to such a high degree that it didn't seem very realistic.

What do you think about how the robots in the movie developed consciousness and feelings? Do you think that humans could every design a robot that is so complex that the electrical signals turn into life?

What is so creepy is that it is theoretically possible for a similar scenario to play out. With all the reports we read about room bots, lawn bots, and and nurse bots it's only a matter of time that those robots who interact with humans on a frequent basis adopt human traits. Also given the nature of companies, by having robots look like humans its a style point that they can market and profit off of.

A classic film about hackers. What did you think about it.

Specifically, how has the technology of hackers changed since then?

Movie was awesome. Graphics were good.

Creepy how people were so emotionally attached to the robots designed to love them. Anyone who would still consider getting a robot care person when they're old?

I thought the movie was interesting. I've seen it before and couldn't remember much of it. I definitely thought the Mecha at the end were aliens, but Morgan made sure I was aware that they were not. The realness was good, the idea of AI has been around for ages and they did a good job of connecting things; fears and desires.
